Medicine, science of healing can be started in prehistoric times as evidenced by the papers on ancient Greek medicine and Babylonian. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, has laid the foundations for health reasons which today modern medicine has been shaped. Both the traditional medicine and modern works on the same principle – to bring healing. Modern medicine, on the other hand, involves the use and application of health sciences, biomedical research and modern technology in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.

As for drugs, traditional medicine uses herbal medicine or the use of plants or herbs, procedures such as acupuncture, massage and other modern medicine, and treatment of disease with capsules, tablets, liquids, powders and gels developed from years of research and pharmaceutical studies to about 100 percent accuracy and precision. Modern medicine operates under the principle of fairness, accuracy, urgency and speed that no margin of error is allowed when it comes to saving lives.

In traditional medicine, by trial and error is often the technique is used. A swollen ankle for example, is applied with a certain herbal medicine. Although the proportion of traditional and modern medicine, the goal itself, vary in the most relevant and important. However, we must not forget that traditional medicine has contributed greatly and has been a part in the development of modern medicine that we currently enjoy.
